Physical Aspect
Wrestling has played a major role in my life. I learned how to push past my supposed limits. It taught me how to exercise my will and taught me to press through hard situations. Wrestling is a high intensity sport that requires its participants to obtain a elite level of stamina and endurance. There is no "fit" like "wrestling fit". Wrestling is non stop, there is no break in between rounds, so if you're tired you have to press through. "Survival of the fittest", a phrase that describes life itself, symbolizes the mentality of a wrestler when he steps on the mat.Character Building
Wrestling has given me a sense of pride and has helped me develop . It at also helped me develop a sense of independence and it also required me to develope a sense of responsibility for my self. When you're on the mat there is no one else but you and your opponent, there is no one else to blame but yourself. Wrestling has not only been character building experience for me, but has giving something to live for; as a depressed adolescent, I would look forward to wrestling season more than anything.“More enduringly than any other sport, wrestling teaches self-control and pride. Some have wrestled without great skill—none have wrestled without pride.” ~ Dan Gable
